(2023) visuals for the scenography of the official Statehood Day Ceremony of the Republic of Slovenia at Congress Square, broadcast on national public TV

In collaboration with director Matej Filipičič, I prepared visual segments for the stage scenography at the official Statehood Day celebration in 2023. The celebration placed special focus on addressing Slovenia within the themes of environmental protection and nature conservation, so the visuals are connected to my creative practice during this period.

The work is closely processually linked to the project Another Future Entirely (production under KonS = Platform for Contemporary Investigative Art), which speculates about a utopian solarpunk society of the future. At the same time, the project explored the then very fresh artificial intelligence technology for creative purposes. One of the products of Another Future Entirely are animated spheres - collages that I filled with new visual content related to Slovenian nature and the environment specifically for the celebration. In addition to the aforementioned spheres, I also created an animated collage depicting the transformation of the degraded area around the Šoštanj Thermal Power Plant into a lush, green, ecologically harmonious environment. The old industrial structures have been converted into sustainable residential buildings, and instead of coal, electrical energy is generated from renewable energy sources.

Nejc Trampuž - Artist and Director, Statehood Day Visuals Project

Nejc Trampuž

artist Nejc Trampuž (1993) is a multi-award-winning new media artist from Slovenia, who has presented his work at around 100 exhibitions, festivals and other events. Operating somewhere between multimedia, technology, ecology, social issues, and activism, he is recognised by his audiovisual, often interactive digital artistic experiments, presented in a saturated, collage-like aesthetic. He explores diverse artistic approaches and technologies such as artificial intelligence, animation, automation, interactivity, the internet, film, video, sound, glitch, projection, light, and more.
Rok Kos - Programmer, Statehood Day Visuals Project

Rok Kos

programmer Rok Kos (1997) is a developer of video games and interactive experiences. After completing his studies in interdisciplinary computer science at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, he was recruited by the Outfit7 global company, where he developed mobile games that had billions of downloads. Whilst developing his own projects involving robotics, computer science and 3D printing.
Brina Meze-Petrić - 3D Designer, Statehood Day Visuals Project

Brina Meze-Petrić

3D design Brina Meze-Petrić (1996) is an architect, VJ and musician. She obtained her master's degree from architecture at the Akademie der bildenden Künste Wien (AT). Her favorite form of expression is 3D modeling, video, comics, infographics and collage.
