The work is the result of the practical manifestation of the bachelor's thesis titled Abstraction in Photography, for which the author received special recognition (summa cum laude). The author explored methods that lead to the transformation of a subject toward the unrelated, unrecognizable, and abstract. He achieved the final level of abstraction through a process consisting of several consecutive steps. Even the subjects he photographed on analog 35 mm film were abstract in themselves – reflections in windows and shop displays. He digitized the photographs and combined two to three images into one, thus creating a single composition that merges multiple spaces and perspectives. Through an exaggerated Photoshop editing process, he achieved the desired color values and relationships between forms. He then manually printed the photographs using a special printing process with plates that are normally intended for mechanical offset printing. This process allowed him further manipulation through the re-combination of multiple photographs into a single print, controlled application of ink, selection and positioning of the plate, while also including interesting imperfections in the print.
