Select > Edit > Transform

(2020) series of digital collages (digital print in light box and series of riso prints)

From the exhibition leaflet for Select > Edit > Transform: "The author explores environmental themes in his recent projects, including the exhibition Select > Edit > Transform. The starting point is photographs of landscapes found online. The highly popular genre of kitschy landscape photography creates a contradiction with our real relationship to nature, which we often treat destructively and indifferently. In a similarly destructive manner, the author treats these photographs. He is employing processes of excessive, destructive digital manipulation to extract more intense colors and compression artifacts from the digital image files, thereby establishing a distinctive glitch aesthetic—an error (a glitch is a fault in an analog or digital electronic system, which can also be visually expressed). He also uses recordings of glitches encountered in his own activities. This glitch aesthetic is combined with original landscape images and artificial vistas, resulting in more or less complex digital collages."
